The Rehm brothers, Chris and Curran, have been prolific songwriters ever since they picked up electric guitars around the age of 13. During this time Chris (afro) was going through some tough times, a Christian rock phase. His brother would constantly slap him in the phase with Meat Puppets CDs and his best friend Sean Hart would steal his Thousand Foot Crutch albums and replace them with Sonic Youth. Sean decided to play drums so that Althea, a really cute bass player he met in biology, could make the band complete. For the last 4 years, The Riff Tiffs have been developing a unique sound that has been described as both melodic and progressive, and has been compared to Explosions in the Sky and Radiohead. They have released a handful of recordings over the years, and have sold over 800 copies of their most recent full-length album. The Riff Tiffs’ goal for the future is to tour nationally twice a year and establish an innovative website so they can communicate with fans, release new music, and sell merchandise.
